I'm Leaving Substack

Another one bites the dust

Casey Newton of Platformer has had enough. As has Molly White. Two people I deeply respect. If you are on Substack, you are probably familiar with Casey’s position.

I don’t want to debate; I’m tired of social media arguments. I’m tired of all the folks trying to make rational the irrational. Suffice it to say, the stance of the Substack leadership team that ‘anything goes’ doesn’t fit my mindset.

And so as I did with Twitter, I’m stopping posting my Daily Inspiration here.

I’m keeping my account open in the vain hope that I might one day return.

My Daily Inspiration still goes out on multiple social networks.

And I’ve created https://daily.jimcarroll.com, which is the open-source Ghost version of the Substack ideal. It’s on my server, and I think that is a better option for me going forward.
